Is it true that Man who heats with wood him heats himself 3 times with one stick ?

Chopping wood one day

as I mulled over my cider

a new winters sweat

crept up like a spider

My cider still hot

sitting on the stump

wood to the wagon

I now did dump

Trudging hard softly

under the strain

I now added wood

to my small domain

Once inside

and a good fire burning

I sweat some more

while the chestnuts are turning

Hot cocoa on the wood stove

Hot cider being mulled

My heat is now magnified

more than thrice fold

  • lol you have just described my grown son who has a one room cabin near the woods. He has a huge Buck wood burning stove in that little cabin. However he uses a log splitter to split his wood. He decided to sell some and worked all day to have enough to sell to one customer.

Of course we have no wood for our fireplace ………I may rob him of his wood and then I will be warmed three times. lol lol

  • Actually once to walk up to the wood….cause there is no more near the house

    once to cut it

    once to split it

    once to load it

    once to unload it

once to stack it in a pile…..a half time to get pissed off over splinters and hunt up

    your gloves

    once to bring it in

once when you burn it…..and another half if you cook with it

    once to empty the ashes

    So that is 9 times……maybe up to 9 1/2 or 10 times

    AND

If you put the ashes on the garden…….the circle of heat continues

  • I swear 1 more of these and I’ll find another use for that log

  • Less so if you use a chainsaw.
