Is Nick Markakis underrated or what?

Nick has been overall the most consistent player for O’s over the past 7 seasons, he’s never batted worse then .284, and he has a overall career AVG of .296… he’s been in the top 10 in Hits 3 different times and was in the top 10 in Doubles in 4 straight seasons. But he always seems too be never talked about, and now even though the Orioles are awesome, he is in the shadows of Adam Jones, Chris Davis, Manny Machado and Nate McLouth. Never been an All-star too, is he underrated… I think so.

  • Markakis has been a model of consistency his entire career. He’s a solid, above-average everyday player who would be a good addition to any team. I wouldn’t call him underrated, because he’s not a super-star or anything like that; under appreciated is more like it.

  • It seems like according to you every Oriole is underrated and the team will win the World Series.

  • Zwack- you don’t have to be good to be underrated, just as how you don’t have to be bad to be overrated.

Underrated simply means you get less credit than you deserve; overrated merely means you get more credit than deserved.

For example, idk if you follow the NFL, but Mark Sanchez, a bad qb, would technically be underrated because people make him out to be the worst QB in the NFL, even though he’s better than most backup QBs in the NFL.

Flacco can be labeled overrated, even though he’s good, because people are putting his name up there with Rodgers’, Peyton’s, Brady’s, and Brees’

As for Markakis, I have no idea.
