Is Self induced Sleep paralysis scary?

So i’m trying to start lucid dreaming and have researched and came to the conclusion that WILD (wake induced lucid dreaming) is the best way to go about it. The only part about this that worries me is the sleep paralysis. If you do the stop, drop , and roll procedure and keep your eyes closed will you still see hallucinations or just hear them? I am really looking forward to lucid dreaming but would like to start with all the knowledge I can get beforehand.
