My cat has been missing for four days?

My one year old male cat has been missing for four days now and I’m getting really worried? How long should it take for him to come back if he is still alive??

  • Hey 🙂

That’s really sad that he has gone missing.

Maybe around your area locally, you could put up missing cat posters, or in a store that takes ads and put one in there too.

Is he micro-chipped? If he is then that could go a long way to find him, it is much more helpful, and if he is lost somewhere and someone finds him, they will look for his microchip (if he has one) and know where to return him.

Keep an eye out for him, and maybe call him out when you are out, he might recognize the sound of your voice.

Don’t give up looking for him, there have been many cases where people have lost their cats for years and they returned/found them year later!

Don’t give up and good luck 🙂

  • You haven’t put down many details so it’s quite hard to answer that question, if you cat has been ‘microchipped’ then there is a very good chance she will be handed back. If it is a male (tom) cat, then it’s most likely having fun time with some girls, but I would strongly recommend sending the details to your local vet or pound, and put up posters about your missing pet.

I would also go outside and checking for her body (especially on roads, or sidewalks where the body might have been placed).

My cat has been lost for over a day now, it disappeared after a fight, I’m hoping that it comes back soon though.

Sorry about your cat, hope you find it soon, best of luck.

  • Iv heard of cats wondering back after a year of being missing! Try not to worry, although I know it must be hard not to. Check out daniels post, below yours. Theres suggestions like posters, check out the pounds, walk around with ur cats favorite treats calling its name. But dont give up! Im sure its just licking it pride wounds somewhere. Have you got facebook? My son lost his favorite teddy once and oh my dear lord! Never has he screamed so much, I ended up asking for help on facebook and within the hour my boy was reunited with his teddy! Why not ask for help on there? Someones bound to have seen your cat somewhere

    Good luck

Oh, and a 16yr old cat? Id guess, mr percy, you assume hes got to that age through being a lapcat? Well, my neighbour has a 18year old cat who is a outdoor cat…what do you make of that?! And even if my cat doesnt reach 16, at least I know she happy

  • Try looking for him and calling out to him. I wouldn’t worry TOO much though. Cats are known to disappear for a while and come back, its ok. My cat disappeared for like a week once a reappeared on our front porch as if nothing ever happened.

  • this once happened to my female cat but when i found her she was dead, and another cat of mine went missing these days but sometimes he comes back and he has became very wild but don’t worry im sure it will come back…

  • Cats usually find there way back if they go for a long walk. Have you gone out and called your cat by name? This is very important, because they recognize their name and your voice. It could help. I have helped cats find there way with this method.

  • Wow so many lost cats on here lately. The coyotes must be hundred.

Personally, I would never give up looking for my cat. But then, I love my cats and I keep them all safely indoors so this wouldn’t happen to me. Put up signs. Go door to door with posters with his picture. Check local shelters. But odds are you’ll never know what happened to your cat. Only one year old – wow. I have a SIXTEEN year old cat sitting here purring next to me.
