My friend was driving me home and possible hit another car or pole and left..?

My friend was driving me home in my car. There was another friend in the car with us. I fell asleep and she hit a parked car and left, when we arrived at our destination I woke up and found out about the accident. She says that there weren’t any witnesses and she just panicked. I did not know what to do so I called my insurance company and told them my car damage was hit while it was parked. I don’t think they believe it, what should I do? Should I confess? If I do come clean, what should I do? Is it too late to change my story?
