My laptop can't connect to a wifi but my roommate's can? Pls help.?

Okay, so I have an Acer notebook and so does my roommate. There’s an Aztech wifi here and her laptop can connect to it while mine can’t. It only says, “limited or no connectivity” and then I tried following other people’s tips and it now says that it’s connected but it doesn’t or there’s no received packet or whatever you call that, only sent. And there’s no blue light. that indicates that it has an internet connection. How can I fix this? Pls help. When I was at home, we have a wifi there and it was connecting just fine. I don’t know why I can’t connect to the wifi here while my roommate can always connect to it.

Please provide step by step instructions.

Thanks so much!

Update:

Btw, I do not own this wifi or router.

Update 2:

I’ve already tried a lot of this. Restarting it did nothing.

  • Try restarting your computer. Could be an IP conflict so youd have to deactivate your wireless and re-activate it again. Reboot would do the same thing. 🙂

  • I would say try a different connection or just get a cheap plug in internet router. Try asking the people you got the Acer from. Maybe then can help.

  • you need to use wifi with ur broadband connection. if u have wifi card on your pc then create a wifi connection via sharing lan connection with ur wifi card and seek ur wifi device and then get admission to with on your wifi. make you advantageous u make seen on your wifi adapter.
