My hair used to be REALLY long and I cut inches off about months ago… It ended up being a couple inches under my collar bone and it looked SO much better. Now it’s grown out to right in the middle of my boobs and I want to cut it to my collar bone or shorter.. I told my mom and she was so mad. She just kept saying that I’m going to hate it and it’s going to look so bad and I told her that it’s just hair and it will grow back and she was just like “whatever.” And now she’s mad at me. Now I’m really starting to think that it will look bad or something… Any advice? My hair is also really thick so when I cut it short, it makes the ends really thick and bulky looking. How can I fix that?

I should also mention that I’m turning in August… So it’s a little annoying that my mom is still trying to control my decisions still.

Well, the major thing is that she’s making me believe that my hair will look bad. I haven’t had it that short since th grade and I’m kind of scared to cut it. I just thought it would look good on anyone but now i’m not so sure

It’s your choice what you do with your hair, your mum has no say n u should do what you want to do. I will say however, seriously think about it before you have it cut short…I know it’s only hair n it will grow back but I used to have hair down to my bum, had it cut short n regretted it sooooooo bad! Now I struggle to grow it past shoulder length n spend a stupid amount on extensions! Maybe try a good wig on in a short style see what u think. If u do go ahead your hair dresser will be able to layer your hair or razor the ends thinner so it doesn’t look bulky

It’s usually the other way round but certainly not in your case. Dude, you need to confront her and tell her IT’S YOUR OWN HAIR. IT GROWS ON YOUR VERY OWN HEAD and that if you want it cut, YOU WANT IT CUT. This is no joke. Just tell her and get angry so she can see. She can’t let you win when it’s up to you. She doesn’t control you. Who are you? Someone who can get what they want! You are not to be defeated. NOW go and tell her. x
My mom is like that too. Just cut them off, she’ll get over it.
Cut it them a bit and she won’t notice.
It’s your hair, she needs to understand you can do what you like with it
