My question is in regards to a 2004 Jeep Liberty 3.7L V6 that is smelling of something burning.?

When I turn on the heat and/or air conditioner, within 5 minutes, there is a smell of something burning. Today, I was stopped at a stoplight and saw some steam or smoke coming from the front, passenger side of the hood. The engine light does not indicate that the engine is over heating. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • sounds like a seized compressor but you never said your ac stopped working so its not
my best guess is that the winding in the motor are shot which is like a $3 fix
but could also be a fan relay or a control board
have someone who knows what they’re doing look it over for you
