  • You could have a connection, but not be authenticated. This is often the case with Wireless Access Points that are protected with WEP or WPA.

Usually, if you’re using Windows Network Connection Center, it will tell you if the network you’re connected to is secure or not.

Double check your connection settings and make sure that your WEP/WPA key is correct on your PC – without it, you cannot (legally) access the point.

If this is your Access Point, you can always reset the Wireless router (There’s usually a reset button on the back of the router) Press it and hold until all the lights go off and come back on. This sets it to factory default. Just make sure that your ISP doesn’t have specific settings, and it SHOULD work.

If that doesn’t work, you can also reset the modem and router.

This should fix any problems on your end. If you have any further issue, contact your ISP. There could be anything with a simple protocol issue to an actual outage. So they’ll be able to assist you further.
