So I’m throwing a pool party on my sweet sixteen for about 30 people. And I need ideas for themes, hair, makeup n food and also ideas for games in and outside the pool.

A good theme for pool parties is Hawaii or just beach themed. You could get those lei headbands for your hair, and maybe make your hair have beachy waves in it. Or you could just put one really pretty flower in your hair, and this way you can have your hair up. Go natural with the makeup. Maybe put some foundation on, then some waterproof eyeliner and waterproof mascara, and a hint of lipgloss. Make sure to apply sunscreen while you’re outside! A lip gloss with SPF would help. You could wear a grass skirt for fun! Have everyone come wearing beachy clothing/hawaiian clothing.
Food:
-BBQ is always easy (Hamburgers and Hotdogs), but if you want to try something more fun and festive, you could try making kebabs with chicken or beef as the main dish on the grill.
-Fruit trays are always nice and easy. Watermelon is always a favorite at Summery parties. Pineapple would be good if you make it Hawaiian themed. You could also do kebabs for fruit.
-You could make some kind of punch as a beverage. You could also have a few different kinds of soda and/or lemonade. Make sure to have water available too. You could try making non-alcoholic pina coladas, and have little umbrellas inside the cups.
-Chips, crackers (maybe goldfish, for the beachy theme), maybe a salad or pasta salad
-For dessert, cupcakes would probably be easier than cake, if you’re going to have 30 people. Plus you can do more than one flavor.
Games for IN the pool:
You could get a blow up beach ball, and play volley ball in the pool. You could also play Marco Polo.
You could also throw some change in the pool, and have people dive in and see how much they can get, and let them keep it as a prize! You could also buy a pool basketball hoop, and play basketball. You could do a game and see who can make the most baskets in a certain amount of time.
Games OUTSIDE the pool:
-Limbo
-Water balloon/ squirt gun fight
-Beach volleyball
Hula dance-off
-Slip n slide
-Water Balloon Towel Toss: Have everyone try and bring a beach towel. Have everyone pick a partner, and have them stand next to another group of two. Each person holds onto one end of the towel, one towel per group of two. Put a water balloon in the center of each towel for each group of four. Have them try and launch the balloon from the towel into the other group of two’s towels, and step away from eachother each time the balloon is caught. If it drops, the two teams are out and must sit down. The last team standing wins.
Have fun, hawaiian music playing during the party.. or just some of your favorite tunes.
