I am 15 years old, and go to an Online school called Connections Academy. I live in Oklahoma and I am in my freshman year (9th).
I just now started the whole online schooling deal on August 7th of this year. But, the only problem is, is that I’m already growing tired of it. I left real school because, of bullies and I don’t like being around large groups of people. Now that I am in online schooling I want to go back, I am growing lazy not wanting to do my work so I just rush through and get done in maybe like an hr. My grades are starting to go downhill and all. (I do have advanced classes)
I want to go back to real school but, my parents don’t think I should because I haven’t been with the whole online schooling thing for awhile. Any tips on getting them to change their mind? Please help me. I feel like I am missing out on a lot more I want to make good grades and all.

Been there done that! lol I did online home schooling in the 8th grade and got bored so I went back to public school for 9th grade! I ended up hating public school AGAIN lol and now I’m back to online schooling. I didn’t like being around so many people all the time, my classes were starting to stress me out, and school started taking up my entire life. I was literally doing homework till I fell asleep! Hopefully you like the kids you’re around and your teachers aren’t as strict as mine were. But If you really wanna go back just tell your parents how bad your grades have gotten and what your your missing out on.
If they still don’t let you go back try to make the most out of it. Put in more effort to your studies. Go out with your friends, enjoy life. Go to games if you want, one of my friends that’s in high school invites me to go with her and some friends to her boyfriends football games sometimes. I go out on the weekends a lot now and hopefully I’ll graduate high school earlier than the kids in public school! 😛
I think you should tell your parents what you just said on here. You aren’t motivated and feel lazy and you need the stimulation that being at school gives you. Just be honest with them like you are here.
Is there any chance you can begin college classes? I started college when I was in high school and I”m not all that smart lol, so if you are taking advanced classes maybe instead of going back to high school you might be able to take some of the classes at community college. Hopefully you won’t run into bullies there, I was bulled in high school but college that doesn’t happen (except for the hazing stuff you read about, but that’s few and far between)
As well as doing the online classes research each subject well so you understand it before doing a test. I would say stay doing it. Try to make the learning more fun by going on trips. Also you could make new friends by joining loads of clubs and then you wouldn’t have to go back to the bullying, the reason why you quit in the first place. You have to force yourself to do your work if you are homeschooled. You should at least do 2 hours.
