I don’t think there’s some conspiracy to force Mir to retire. Sure, Overeem’s a tough opponent – who’s going to pay to watch anyone, Mir or otherwise, go up against weak opponents? But that doesn’t mean anyone’s out to “get” Mir to retire.

Mir can beat overeem. Mir has lost his last two fights because his opponents were world class wrestlers who nullified (or at least threatened to nullify) his take downs and in turn forced Mir to strike.
Overeem lost his last two because he leaves himself open and gets rocked. If Mir can take overeem down (Which he shouldn’t have a problem doing) he will win.
Both these guys are due for the chopping block! Both these guys need a win.I dont think Mir wouldnt have it any other way. Better to have tested yourself against the best in the division rather than be fed some newbies or cans. MIr can get this if he goes back to his smart technical incarnation instead of the overweight bruiser he turned himself into after losing to Brock. The Reem needs to get back to basics and cover his chin and work on his cardio.

AO should murder him, style wise that’s an easy win. If there’s any HW that’s got a sh*ttier chin and durability than AO, it’s Mir.
Overeem just needs to smother Mir, get close and punish him (like Barnett and Carwin did). Mir’s chin is PATHETIC, I literally think he’s been stopped in all of his losses.
Imagine Alistair getting close and kneeing Mir in his face? He’ll flop like a fish and then complain about the stoppage.

It’s the heavy weight division. There aren’t allot of fighters at Mir’s level. Most division you have a steady decline from Champion skill level, to Okay I’ve won some fights i’m ready. In the heavy weight division it’s Champion, Contenders, then fill ins.
Really pulling for Mir. But if any one can follow the blueprint to bear Mir, the Reem can. Yes, this seems like a loser skips town fight. I hope Mir finds that weak chin and snaps another limb.
