Ok so I have a friend who is obsessed with herself basically in everything she does she puts herself at the center of the universe and doesnt really care about what I do or any other friends of hers for that matter.
Even when someone does something better I know she notices it but ignores it like it doesnt happen! For example I draw anime and so does she…she doesnt use guidelines because she believes she doesnt need them and I use them even though I understand human anatomy not to use them because I want to get better…
though I’ve noticed my art is now for once superior even though she still tries to correct me on stuff that is correct. She also thinks all of her ideas are always perfect and when I try to give an idea she just throws it away saying naw thats stupid…
She I’ve noticed has never thought of anyone else hardly when it comes to what they really like…
The thing i’m trying to point out thats bothering me is how she likes to go on about something i’m not really interested in even though she knows im not interested. And any chance she gets she uses to talk about herself…which I mean who doesnt find that annoying?
I love her i just want to know how to deal with this and show her what shes doing…without making her cry because shes so damn sensitive when it comes to telling her about things its not even funny!
Theres one thing I’d like to tell you guys before you answer so that you completely understand how i feel right now…I’m a girl that enjoys attention since I dont always get it hardly at all and when shes around I dont get any unless she goes off somewhere or is in a different class…
I feel so isolated with my friends around her…like I’m a nobody…unless my two other extremely awesome friends are there… but anyways an example I will give you to help you help me.
We write 4 manga (japanese comic) fanfics together both of our characters in it and she always of course makes herself the most powerful and important character changing the characters that are actually in the books personalities! which really (sorry for the language) pisses me off! because you dont change their personalities! Especially when they are not hers to change!
And when it comes to my character…she/he whatever I wanted them to be gets shunned and kicked out of the Manga all the time… I only show up 2 to 3 times for 1 to 2 panels within 3 pages! of one of our Fanfics!
Kind of ridiculous dont you think? So how do I stop her from this? Its driving me nuts! and I’m sick of being a nobody either within comics or even in reality! Im kind of sick of being number 2! I want to be equal! So please help me understand how to get through this… 0-0

I suggest you talk with your other friends about it, and all of you politely confront her. Just say, “Listen, you need to let (your name) have some more say in the panel.” When she acts that way, all of you need to politely turn the attention away from her. Not to be rude, but to just keep it even in the group.

Sometimes some one needs to hear things the hard way so they understand if you keep letting her walk all over you then it will continue. It seems that eventually she might steal your ideas and go solo if you let it. I think you need to just tell her or start off with “can i talk to you” or you could do it through a text if it’s hard to do in person or through a phone call. i think that you two should work it out before your business partners become competition.
