Prom tux ideas? Would this be ok?

Prom is in 2 weeks, so I have a little bit of time to work with to get my tux set up. I have my own tux, just the general black and white. I would like to use as much as I can so that I don’t have to spend too much. I’m thinking of something creative though. I was thinking of using my black coat and white shirt, and rent maybe a silver or white vest. Then rent some white pants. Would that be alright? I know it’s not common, but hey, why not be different. I might go the gray coat and black pants route. I’m gonna get my tie and other stuff in the color of what my date wants to wear.

black coat, white pants look bad. i’m sorry. :/ but, you only get to go to prom once in your life, so wear something that you won’t regret when you are older.

i think it’s better to stick to the traditional black coat, black pants look. but if you really don’t want that, gray coat, black pants is way better than black coat, white pants.

white pants in general don’t look that cool… that’s just what i think.

just think, if you wear a black coat, white pants, AND a colorful tie (suppose your date isn’t wearing black), your tux will look funny.

ask what your date thinks and whether she would like a more traditional tux or the grey/black tux.
