Question about training for boxing?

The boxer Manny “the pacman” Pacquiao is in excellent shape for boxing! I’ve seen some of his fights, and his footwork and strength are great!!

I’ve looked for workouts from him, and all i’ve found is that he runs 3 hours at 6 a.m., and trains in the gym for 3 hours doing footwork practice, shadow boxing, and other conditioning.

But nowhere i’ve read has it said anything about strength training.

What do you guys think? do you think he mainly focusses with bodyweight for strength?

My question for me is could i go far in strength training with bodyweight? such as pushups, pullups, dips?

  • Boxing is not a bodybuilding thing – so strength will increase from all your bag work and ground work exercises etc etc
