Question on rental car deposits?

So I have to rent a car in a couple weeks. My credit limit wont allow me to rent a car and make the deposit. So is it possible to pay for the rental car with my debit card and give the deposit with my credit. Or vice versa

Avis offers a split billing payment option which allows you to split charges on two separate credit/debit cards but you would have to check with them to see if they could split the charges and the deposit on two cards. Avis.com or 1-8-633-3469
