Seeds sown very deep in the soil usually do not germinate because?

    2. Seeds need water and oxygen to germinate. Oxygen to start respiration so the seedling can break the surface. Too deep, no oxygen.

    4 Some seeds particularly in jungles need light to reach them from the canopy or they won’t germinate. This is not true for seeds not originating in jungles.
