Since it is so easy to make a electric generator that makes more electricity then it uses?

why do people still use coal, gas/diesel, and nuclear?

Update:

Bruno and Thor, I have not only seen one in real life, I helped build it more then 20 years ago, when I was in high-school shop class. 8 of us working together.

It was so easy. The entire thing fit on a 4 foot X 4 foot board, The electric motor turned 3 car alternators, the first powered the 12-volt motor, and the 2nd and 3rd powered all of the 12-volt lights that we hooked up.

Please do not tell me it can not be done when I have already done it.

Update 2:

Breath, I did not figure out how to get electricity from the air. Nikola Tesla figured it out in 1934.

All I/we did was make a self-powering generator, just like other have been doing for years. Car alternators turn very easy, and can make a lot of power, so if the electric motor uses less power then the alternators make, there is extra power, and if the motor is powerful enough, extra alternators can be add to make even more power. That is what we did.

  • You are a genius! You have been able 20 years ago to do what no other living human being is able to accomplish AND you tossed out all physics books by defying the 2ed law of thermodynamics in the process.

The reason why the rest of the world is still in the dark ages of converting power from stored sources of coal, gas, diesel and nuclear is because no one else seems to have your grasp of a way to manufacture energy out of thin air.

Please explain more how this was accomplished!

But you will also forgive us if we consult with the Museum of unworkable devices to compare your technology with others that are known not to work:

EDIT: Thanks for the clarification but you present two widely divergent theories of why such a system is supposed to work.

–Tesla was interested in taping into natural charge levels in the Earth, he was not using generators.

    — On the other hand you suggest that you can compensate for an electric motor that is perhaps 10% inefficient with a generator or a series of generators that are somehow more than 110% efficient, essentially producing electricity out of thin air and violating the second law of thermodynamics. The physics of what you saw many years ago does not without further explanation stand on its own, is not accepted or produced and this is why it is not commercially available.

I have however seen demonstrations of electric motors that have spun up massive generators. The mass of the generator essentially stores energy as a flywheel and releases that power after the electric motor is disconnected. If RPM are tested they will be shown to be slowly falling as the stored energy is released. It is a great storage system that is used by Beacon Power to store grid electricity but it is not an electrical production system.

  • Because its a scam !

There is no such a thing like free energy.

There is no such a thing like an electric generator that needs no energy input.

Have you ever seen , IRL, an electric generator that after start up has its output connected to its input and still has electric energy left over to feed other appliances? NO of course not.

You may have noticed them on YouTube an free-energy forums, but that are all scams.

Thats why we (need to) keep on using PV cells, windmills, Geothermal, tide energy generators,

fuel cells + for now classic fossil fuel & nuclear energy ( sources).

If you ever run into a person making such claims ( IRL or on forums, ask how his house & car are powered, ask for independent verification, ask why he does not has won the Nobel prize yet, because obvious if you invent such a device you may become very rich but also will be nominated for the Nobel-prize, no doubt.

    is (s)he still grid connected,

  • Well how do you get electricity from an electric generator? Sun? not everywhere has enough sun for that. Water? A lot of people believe dams harm the ecosystem. Wind? Giant windmills are expensive so thats why we use gas

  • Obviously a high school of idiots…
