Spider IV with my boss bd-2 creates feedback.?

I played a concert with my bd-2 as my primary distortion pedal and came into the problem of getting bad feedback whenever i pressed in my pedal, even with a clean sound on the amp. I had to turn my volume down very low to even get slight crunch from my pedal. The volumes of the pedal and amp were lined up, and I was as far away as possible from the amp, but whenever I reached my preferred loudness(not too loud) the feedback started. I can’t afford to play lower than the rest of the band, considering I am the primary and lead guitarist. Please, if anyone has some tips on how to control my volume when I have this pedal (which i love) in my board.

    – if you have tubes in any of your gear, make sure they are not microphonic. Causes uncontrollable feedback, even at low volumes
    – settings for the bedroom are not suitable at stage volume. cut back on the amount of gain, distortion, and compression. you need to do this testing at stage volume and get things dialed in. Be warned that this will be loud and irritating to everyone nearby so make sure you do it during the daytime in a suitable venue (like a paid rehearsal space or well-insulated basement/garage)
    – I dont use this amp or distortion pedal, but for my own gear I do have different sets of patches that are identical except for having tweak gain/mastervol/compression for different amps, and for playing super-loud vs. just loud.
