Spiritually do you think man will resolve the problems on this earth and clean it up?

In the book of Adam and Eve which is a hidden or un-cannonized book of the Bible:
God promises Adam and Eve that man will be in paradise again.

  • We better. I always figured that if there was a God, He wouldn’t let us go out and play until we cleaned up our room.

  • Man won’t resolve the problems, but the second coming of Christ will. Man has had one of his most bloody centuries yet in just this past century – over 260 million citizens killed by their own governments alone. Now with the nuclear capabilities it will be much worse when the 3rd world war is triggered. As Brzezinski said, it is now “easier to kill a million people than to control a million people”

  • Alexandria, Terra or whatever you want to call yourself … You are apparently still caught up in your former beliefs and/or cultism. The so called hidden or lost books of the Bible were meant to be so. God would not allow man to tamper with His Word in such a manner. Too many men died to preserve it for mankind. I cannot apologize for my open rebuke because anyone who openly twists or perverts what God has said deserves to be openly rebuked.

You either believe what God tells you in the Bible (Canon) or you don’t … which is it?

God says He will destroy this earth. Do you believe Him? Apparently not from your statements.

II Pet. 3:7-12 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

    The Day of the Lord

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

Rev. 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

Note: Is this a renovated heaven and earth or a brand new haven and earth? There are two major arguments for a renovated heaven and earth. The first argument is that there are numerous passages which show a renovated earth: Rom. 8:19-22; Acts 3:21; Matt. 19:23, BUT these passages are dealing with the Millennium. The second argument is that the word new (χαινος kainos) in Rev. 21:1 mans new in quality and not new in time (νεος neos), BUT the word can mean according to Thayer “new, which as recently made is superior to what it succeeds.” An example of this meaning is found in Matt. 26:28 which says, “For this is My blood of the new covenant.” The obvious meaning of new here is not new in quality but something that is recently made that is superior to that which it succeeds.” See also Mark 14:24; I Cor. 11:25.

There are three major arguments for a brand new heaven and earth. One, the former earth and heaven fled away because there was no place for them (Rev. 20:11). Two, the former earth and heaven are destroyed (not renovated) by fire (II Pet. 3:7-13). Three, God desire to destroy what sin and Satan impacted. “Further, it would be most natural that the present earth and eaten, the scene of the struggle with Satan and sin, should be displaced by an entirely new order suited for eternity.” (Walvoord, Revelation, p. 306).

  • There are a lot of scriptures that say this and that, but we stay on the Word of God.

    The Day of the Lord

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.[c] 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

We will not be in The Day of The Lord, we will be in the Rapture.

The important differences between the rapture and second coming are as follows:

    1) At the rapture, believers meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). At the second coming, believers return with the Lord to the earth (Revelation 19:14).

    2) The second coming occurs after the great and terrible tribulation (Revelation chapters 6–19). The rapture occurs before the tribulation (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10).

    3) The rapture is the removal of believers from the earth as an act of deliverance (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 5:9). The second coming includes the removal of unbelievers as an act of judgment (Matthew 24:40-41).

    4) The rapture will be secret and instant (1 Corinthians 15:50-54). The second coming will be visible to all (Revelation 1:7; Matthew 24:29-30).

    5) The second coming of Christ will not occur until after certain other end-times events take place (2 Thessalonians 2:4; Matthew 24:15-30; Revelation chapters 6–18). The rapture is imminent; it could take place at any moment (Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54).

  • Sort of. I mean we’ve done a few things that have helped, Clean Air Act, banning aerosols that destroy ozone, etc. But it hasn’t been enough to halt the damaging trend.

I figure it will continue like this for awhile. The environment will slowly get worse, but we’ll at least do some half-hearted attempts to mitigate the worst of it.

Maybe at some point in the future we will have good enough technology to clean the Earth up without affecting the economy, but until then I think we’re stuck with compromises and partial solutions.

  • We have about 4 billion years left until our star ‘ the sun ‘ becomes a red giant, then the party will be over here. By that time mankind will have spread throughout this galaxy, and perhaps on to others if we ever find that worm hole Morgan Freeman talks about. In the mean time, there are two of man’s crazy religions holding us back. One has about 1.6 billion members, and is the greatest threat to civilization man has ever known. The lesser of these two evils has about 7 million members, and is little more than a thorn in the side of progress. Rest assured, there are people working to fix these problems right now. You know this to be a fact because you are one of them.

  • No. Not without God’s help. Man has dominated man to his injury (Ecclesiastes 8:9). Yes. The earth is to stand to time indefinite (Ecclesiastes 1:4). But man’s attempt to rule man is what is behind the majority of bad. It does not belong to man who is walking to direct his own steps (Jeremiah 10:23). But the earth will be repaired by Jehovah. Read Psalms 72:16 and Isaiah 35:1, 2. For He will get rid of all those ruining the earth. Read Psalms 37:10; Psalms 46:9; and Revelation 11:18. So do not fear. For Jehovah will take care of the earth.

  • Yes, in the “short term” he will, but in the long term, Christ will come back and the earth will be lost to us. By the “short term”, I mean that, after a Revolutiolnary war in our own country, and after an atomic world war (which will probably kill half the population of the earth — about 4 billion people), I beleive that Christian morality will prevail and a new, Christian United States will be the leader of the world. NOT the atheistic U.N. as the socialists and commiunists hope and not China or Russia.

  • Maybe. Unfortunately, you’re going to have to get people to care about the planet almost as much as they care about themselves … and that’s very unlikely to ever happen.

Edit: See, the problem is with religious dogma like that mentioned by No Chance Without Jesus. Why care about this world when we’re promised a new one? So lets trash it and not worry about any of the consequences, because a new one is coming. (*eyeroll*)

  • The book from the bible that Jesus directed himself says that it would be destroyed

    Revelation 1
1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

  • God will destroy this earth and create a new one, when this test of mankind is over and eternity begins

  • Spiritually? No. Actually and pragmatically, yes eventually, if we can get some cooperation from the Republicans.

  • I say I put on my ugly *** brunomalles, grab my gloves that jonny cochran says they just don’t fit and stab the beech to death. Thats what I would do.

  • No, the plans of men are to destroy the world and all but 10% on mankind. It is G*D that directs man to repair the world.

  • Man is very imperfect and will never make a heaven on earth, we are all doomed to die and hope to go to the Paradise that God created

  • Religion is the problem, so not likely.

  • Mortal men cannot do that in my opinion.

  • There’s always hope… if not…

Nature has proved to have some very interesting ways of making adjustments…

What’s left would have a new canvas on which to work and hopefully make it better…

  • No, Satan will destroy it.

  • No, I think the earth will clean itself up and wipe us out!
