Website keeps opening by it self?

A website called tinklershobbysite.com keeps opening by it self every 30 minutes or so and it is extremely annoying. I have gone through lots of anti virus software and it detects nothing, i even i have a paid kaspersky and it detects nothing. All i want to do is at least block it from ever opening again because it minimizes out of games when i play them.

  • 1) check history, then extensions. Delete anything you did not deliberately add yourself. Check for additional toolbars you might have accidentally downloaded.
    2) Delete browsing history from the beginning of time.
    3) download Malwarebytes and run it. Delete anything it says to. Sometimes AV won’t find mal or adware because they “look” like deliberately downloaded programs.
    4) if that does not kill it you are going to use Gringo’s advice. Look at source link below (I keep getting reported for links like this, but this is really the best advice).
If that doesn’t work, add additional details and I will check back in later this afternoon. Might need to root it out and remove manually. Old Timer has a great one for that, but you want a geek looking over your shoulder at that point.

I am pretty sure this is a browser hijack/adware, btw..a link to Old Timer’s app. is the 2nd link on the source. That stupid thing has been giving people trouble since 2010 btw..

  • Download a new version of your browser, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome etc. (don’t worry if you can’t, all Windows versions have I.E.) but don’t install it yet.

The key words here are SAFE MODE with Networking!!!

Download, (if you can’t get on-line, have a friend download and copy to disc/flash for transfer) install, and then in SAFE MODE* run full scans with these programs…

*** Important, when downloaded/installed disconnect from the internet ***

    Then re-start.

If you can’t run a scan, go into the scanner’s folder and re-name the .exe file to something like ‘MyFile.exe’ and try in safe mode again. Some malware prevent the execution of anti spy/mal/virus scans by blocking them by name.

    Reinstall your browser.

Try running a couple of on-line scans to be sure…

You should consider getting a good Anti-Virus program.
Try one of these free ones…

***Never use more than one, active, anti-virus program at any one time***

*Note: On start up (before Windows loads) keep tapping either F5 or F8 (be aware that some manufacturers use F8 for system recovery!) then use arrow keys to highlight ‘Safe Mode with networking’ and hit Enter/Return, click on an Administrator account, enter the password (if you don’t know it, there probably isn’t one so leave it blank) and hit Enter/Return.

**Note: Malwarebytes should be run in ‘Normal Mode’ unless that isn’t possible!
