What are high paying jobs in the sociology/ anthropology career fields?

I am a college student and am interested in these areas. I am also interested in making a lot of money (not that I am greedy, but I want to be financially stable and have more than enough to support my family, if that ever happens). So, does anyone, preferably with experience, know of any high paying jobs that would be in the sociology career field or anthropology career field?

$75,000?? In your dreams. You are not going to find high paying jobs in either profession. Sociology degrees tend to land you in Public Welfare organizations, which tend not to pay their people enough for the stress they endure. Anthropology, like most academic professions, only rewards the top instructors and published scientists in their fields with salaries that would seem modest in commercial sector pay scales. Most anthropologists I’ve known personally worked hard enough and were dedicated enough that they were able to earn enough to have a family, but they had to live modestly and all worked for either universities, foundations or the Federal Bureau of Land Management or the National Parks Service. They have little job security and both parents have to work in most cases. But the families seem happy — one benefit of working for colleges is that you usually get free college tuition (undergrad anyway) for your kids. But there is a lot of time spent away from home.

Go into Anthropology if you love it, but don’t expect financial prosperity or security.

I would assume that the path of a professor is the best and most exciting way.

    I’ll bet they make $75,000.
