Are there any musical styles, modes of dress, or traditions that Black Americans today have taken from African culture?

Music I heard alot of Black American music has roots in African rhythm brought from the slaves and passed down.
I am now not certain he modified the social situation of African American folks. Consider that he lightened his epidermis in what many think used to be a way of keeping apart himself from his ethnicity and maybe the reply is that he negatively modified the social situation.

Modern music comes from African American music which is a mix of African music and Occidental music.
Both enjoy music based on loud bass sounds.

The food is not the same, the way we marry, the clothes…I want to see others answers maybe I missed it.
The music (“jazz”, etc.), the food (“peanuts”, “okra”, etc.). There are a lot of MODERN takings from Africa, too, like “Kente colours”…
