What came first the Chicken or the Egg?

At some point in distant history a birdlike creature laid an egg with a mutation in the embryo. When the baby bird came out of the egg it was the first chicken. By reproducing with its mother or siblings that also had the same mutated gene more chickens were born. Thus the egg came first and the chicken last.

By the way, this same process has been used for hundreds of years to cultivate plants and domestic animals by selective breeding. Once in a while a “freak of nature” will occur that has interesting traits – such as a cat with no hair or a dog that can fit in a purse. This is due to a mutation and the parents are often normal cats or dogs. By inbreeding the mutation a new line of animal is created.

According to recent study I read in a newspaper, the chicken must have come first. There is a protein called ovocledidin- in the egg’s shell that can only be found in the chicken’s stomach. Without it the forming of the egg could never be achieved. According to the article, English scientists used a very powerful computer called ΗΕCΤoR, located in Edinburgh, to zoom into the egg’s shell, a process which revealed that the OC- is absolutely necessary to the crystallization of the shell.

The chicken. People ate chickens first, and then people realized that they can make meals out of the eggs that come out of chickens

Nobody really knows. It may have been some mutated bird, in an egg, forming. But that woul mean both. The hicken is inside the egg. So the answer would be, nobody knows.

The egg, if you believe in evolution. The chicken if you’re a creationist.

It depends on your faith. If you believe in God and that he created all life, then your answer is the chicken. Then the chicken laid an egg and reproduced with it’s child like and incest beast.

I think it’s chicken. who would make the egg warm if there is no hen?
