What does this mean? I get this message like times when i start my computer…?

“Bad Image Error” The application or dll C:Windowssystemdmband.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check against your installation diskette.

  • It looks like DMBAND.dll is a component of DIRECTx which is a plugin for doing animation type jobs – if you go to ADD/REMOVE programs and it says DIRECTx – remove it.

    Then go to Micorsoft and find a Direct X download – it is free (see below) and install Directx – if that doesn’t solve it you may have a virus – run a virus scan – or get virus software if you don’t have any.

    You can also download the MALWARE checker from Microsoft.

  • Well, it means you either have corrupted system file(s) or you have an edited pirate copy of windows.

    If you have your windows installation disk, then insert it and boot to it (by changin the bios to boot from CD drive first), and then select repair installation, and let it do its thing.

  • dmband.dll is a part of microsoft direct x. It should be in Windowssystemdllcache.

    Download direct x from here and install it over the old installation,

  • It means one of your Windows File is corrupted or you don’t have the genuine version of Windows.It also sometimes could be a virus!
