I think it’s saying you should live life to the fullest with no regrets or no fear what so ever let nothing hold you back
To be the closest to the action but not involved. That’s how I take it. To watch from the front line. The first analogy that comes to mind is to watch someone struggle with addiction and experience it vicariously through their lives but not experience it first hand by dealing with addiction yourself. This way you can develop a wisdom from the person in the center. Just my take.
