The narrator is saying that she/he was so in love with their ‘lover’ that it was unconditional. It didn’t matter where they were or what they were doing, so long as they were together. She/he was happy just to be with her ‘lover’ but it wasn’t the same for the ‘lover’. The ‘lover’ wanted more in their life other than just to be loved by the narrator because obviously for them, the love wasn’t unconditional and they didn’t really care that much.
