  • Neither one of these boats are desirable, they are not durable to last very long. Building a boat can be pretty costly. On your budget, there’s not much available.

I’d look for a used Jon boat with a small outboard. But that should run 4 X your budget at a minimum.

  • You have to be kidding. . . You’re seriously thinking of an inflatable boat for bow hunting? That has to be about as stupid and idea as deep frying ice cubes. That boat will last about as long as it takes one of your arrow tips to touch your boat – and if that didn’t do it, the first carp or alligator gar that lands or flops in your boat will.

Get a good used jon boat – it will be your most likely best and cheapest option.

And btw – forget trying to build one for $220. I built boats for 40 plus years, and you can not even buy enough boat epoxy (much less the lumber) etc you need for that amount of money.

Excuse me for sounding negative. I’m certainly not calling ‘you’ stupid – just the idea, and I’ve had lots of very stupid ideas myself. . . Just trying to prevent you from making a costly mistake. I simply don’t think you have thought this through. . . Arrow head tips and fish fins are very sharp. . .
