What is the best type of rims and wheel specs for a vw jetta?

I have a black 20 vw jetta and i was thinking about putting some new rims on it. What’s the best wheel specifications for fitting 17’s or 18’s on my car? Example… width, offset, etc. and what about the best tire specifications? also any other information or pictures would be useful. Thanks…

  • What do you mean by ‘best’? For optimum handling, fuel mileage, safety and long life, stay with the stock rim and tire size: it has been figured out by experts.

  • For a 17″ tire and rim package on your Jetta you’d want to go with 17×7 or 17×7.5 rims (35 to 38mm offset) with 225/45-17 sized tires. For the 18 inch package, 18×8 rims with 225/40-18 sized tires.
