After 9/11, I asked one of my Muslim friends why the terrorists did what they did, and he said that Islam does not condone violence. I even went with him to his mosque a few times out of curiosity. They were all very friendly. It was not awkward or rude. It was a lot like the first time I stepped into a Christian church. The religious leader there also told me that Islam does not condone terrorism. In light of the recent events in Boston, I want to understand why Muslim extremists do what they do. I what to know where their violent thoughts are coming from. What is motivating them? Is there a connection between Islam and terrorism? Is it a clear connection? Or are they twisting Islam into something it’s not? Or is there some sort of secret passage that Muslims are forbidden to talk about? Or is about history? The crusades? America’s involvement in the middle east? Help me understand what it is they (muslim extremists) want.

These are just a very few of the actual verses from their own Qur’an where you can see that they are told that they [Muslims] are the Best Nation and all the non-Muslims are “Worst of all Creatures”.
Naturally, that is psychological preparation to make them loathe all non-Muslims and “see” only all that is bad about them, whether they be true or perceived.
That’s why we hear the Muslims always talking about how vile and immoral all non-Muslims are; how the Christians let their women dress provocatively, and how Christian parents allow their sons and daughters to make and act in pornographic movies, and how the Christian parents don’t care whom their daughters and sons sleep with and all such preconceived notions that are of their demented thinking which you always hear them spewing everywhere.
Now, if you are preconditioned to see all non-Muslims as these vile and immoral “Worst of all Creatures” by the repetition of these verses and listening to the harangues of your Imam who keeps on and on telling you – “Look at those kaffirs and the way their women expose part of their breast and their legs in those immodest dresses! Wallahi! What foul creatures they be!” 5 times a day; don’t you think that they will build up enough Hatred to want to rape these filthy women and kill all of these most foul and vile infidels?

Allah commands them to fight the non-believers with whatever weapons of deceit and actual killing to rid the World of such despicable “worst of all creatures” – these filthy immoral, abominations to Allah and start by finishing off your neighbor and then moving on to the next till there are no more non-Muslims left in the World to offend Allah and His Laws. And you see this commandment of Allah, which is also in the Surat at Tawbah – to kill the Disbelievers and wage War against them, repeated in many other Chapters like the Surat Muhammad, Chapter 47 of the Qur’an.
You see, they look upon themselves as Warriors of Allah and Heroes in the Unending War to cleanse the World of the filthy, immoral, lowest scum “Worst of all Creatures” as they really see all of us as.

Like it or not, agree with it or not, they interpret the Quran differently from you and/or your friends, and as such, believe they are the “true” Muslims just as much as you and your friends believe they are wrong. It’s religion. It’s a game of interpretation.

I have read the quran and in many places throughout it teaches that a ‘believer is to kill the unbeliever’ and it is stated in different ways but still it is the same.
Here is one example; And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.
سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #191
This verse is very plain that unbelievers are to be KILLED. I am an unbeliever.
Islam is a very peaceful religion if you are a believer. If you believe what their sect believes then you are a ‘brother’.
You mentioned the “crusades” these were not conducted by Christians, meaning those who followed the Bible and the example of the Son of God. This was done by the Roman Catholic Church and their twisted teachings and misguided people who were taught what to believe by the above mentioned church. What America is doing overseas I believe to be wrong personally. The 9-11 issue I believe that it was and still is the American government that had a hand in it.
Every muslim can be an “extremist” towards all unbelievers and if they follow their ‘bible’ then they are to kill ALL unbelievers, to them this is no being an “extremists” they are obeying their prophet and their allah.

Islam endorses terrorism no more than Christianity does. There are passages in holy books that calls upon violent acts, but in light of the entire books, things like 9/11 are unacceptable. All Qaeda reads one passage (can’t remember which), says attack, but they fail to read further, explaining when attacking is acceptable, such as in defense.
I am Roman Catholic, I don’t believe Islam is True, but I will not suffer that such lies about Islam run a muck the way they do. Islam, OVERALL, is a religion of peace and submission TO GOD, not to radicals.
Those terrorists aren’t even real Muslims, BELIEVE IT OR NOT. They think they are, but they really are infidels, heretics, and murders. Don’t give me “Jihad” either, as I said, Islam does not support such horrible crimes.

hi im a muslim girl i just read some of the answers and i really do believe that people shouldn’t talk about stuff they don’t know i for one don’t talk about christianity good or bad because i know nothing about it so i don’t see how everyone is just talking about islam while they’re not muslims and know nothing about it and as for “David R” he took the verse completely out of context this is how it goes
the verse right before it says 2:190 “Fight in the way of Allah THOSE WHO FIGHT YOU BUT DO NOT TRANSGRESS. INDEED. ALLAH DOES NOT LIKE TRANSGRESSORS.” (allah means god in arabic) and then the verse right after the one “David R” mentions says “And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” so please don’t take some bits and pieces that fits whatever it is you wish was true and stop blaming our religion for anything that happens. islam does not encourage terrorism at all.

The preceding quote was received via e-mail from a Muslim. Notice that he says Islam is a religion of peace, yet that there would be “consequences” for me in my condemnation of Islam. He then mentions how people have been killed for harming the image of Mohammed. Quite frankly, Mohammed damages his own image when he marries multiple women, advocates lying, 1 and spreads his religion by the sword.
Nevertheless, is Islam a religion of peace? Many of its advocates say that it is. Let’s see what the Qur’an actually says.
The Qur’an tells muslims to kill and go to war to fight for Islam: Quran, chapters (Surahs) 9:5; 2:191; 2:193; 3:118; 4:75,76; 5:33, 8:12; 8:65; 9:73,123; 33:60-62.
Fight for Allah: “And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers, (Quran 2:191).
Muslims are to battle for Allah: “Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil’s strategy is ever weak,” (Quran 4:76).
