Im getting into long range shooting/hunting. I am looking at either the NightForce 8-32x56mm or the Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50mm LR/T M1. I need opinions on which scope is better off mil dot and what people are using now.

Leupold’s are nice scopes, but NF scopes are even better and worth the money. At the NF booth at Shot Show around 26 they had a NF scope that was shot through the scope body with a AK47. The soldier that was using it continued to use it for a few days until he got a replacement scope.
— I did some more searching and found the story with a picture of the scope. http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/information-ce…

if you can afford the nightforce, its very good
if you have money to burn.. the hensoldt 6-24×72 zf scope by zeiss is the bomb.
the schmidt and bender 5-25PM2 is also good and not quit as outragious as the hensoldt.
The hensoldt screams one message only….
Then you really need to get a good rifle..and good ammo.
tight clearences 1/10,0th of an inch or less.. balenced ammo that has been spun to concentracity…
kreiger or lilja barrels.and attention to the crown.with a compensator/muzzle brake
I like .338 lapua talk to the folks ar siskguns.com and surgeonrifles.com
having a big bore rifle is fine you still have to have it tuned so that it will shoot straight-which is why the guys with thier barrets still get spanked when i show up with my 7mm rem mag.
time on the range also helps.
Either will give you outstanding performance…but I would lean towards the Leupold unless you truely need the 32X that the Nightforce offers.
Leupold hands down. The optics in a Leupold, especially VX III and II are incredibly sharp.
Night force is much better, all the answers are from those that have never had one in their hands. It is like saying a Ford, is better than a Ferrari. No comparison–not even close.
The 32 power is not used for shooting, it is a target acquisition thing we all shoot @ lower power.
