What Should I call My Screenplay?

Three childhood friends, Dale, Neil and James are reuniting for an evening at a bar named The Foaming Heads. (Dale and Neil are best friends, spending almost every minute together. Dale and James are brothers… neither Dale or Neil have seen James for about ten years).

The three head out to the bar, and spend some time drinking, and having a good time. After a few events, we figure out Dale is a wizard…

Later, we find out Dale’s wife, Rachel was kidnapped by a paranormal entity. (A man, with gleaming white eyes, that shine like a flashlight).

For the next part of the movie, the three set out to find her, and at the half way point, they do. No one knows what happened to her.

The movie then branches into a zombie like apocalypse, where everyone in the town they live turns into the white eyed monsters.

The rest of the movie is about surviving and figuring out what is happening.

Please refrain from referring to wizardry in the title, because it isn’t relevant enough. Also, if you could come up with a title that has the catchiness and vibe of “Hot Fuzz” “This Is The End” or “Pineapple Express”, that would be ideal. But everything is appreciated.

NOTE: Please explain your title.

Thanks for your help.

  • You would be the best one to figure out the title because you know best what your screenplay is about. From your description I personally can’t tell what the theme or most important part of your story is. The main character seems to be David, but only until they find rachel, where everyone seems to be in the same boat.

My advice would be to try out a few titles and when you come up with two or three that might do the trick ask whcih people would prefer, what they think the movie would be about based on the title, what genre it is, and if they would be willing to go see it if all they knew about the story was what they got out of the title (because if it’s not promoted, sometimes that’s all your possible audience has to go on.)
