I took off my stock exhaust. I removed a circular wirey mesh thing because the new link pipe wouldn’t fit. I threw the wirey mesh thing away and carried on with puttin on my new exhaust! What was it?

  • Sounds like a catalytic converter

  • Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions.
    Everything is different.
    Also – where was the wirey thing on the exhaust?
    Where it mounts to the cylinder/head, frame, or muffler joint?

  • Probably a piece to allow movement in the exhaust system. Why did you throw it away , then come on here and ask what it was?
