  • Try a water pistol. They’re cheap, the ammo is cheap, and they’ll reliably wet whatever you shoot them at, within reasonable range.

$1 won’t buy you anything worth having.

  • I bet you will buy a cheap but decent pacemaker when you get older, huh?

You need to take a few moments out of your busy day and walk into a gunshop. Today – you will be lucky to find a box of ammo or a pair of grips for a gun that is under $1, never mind the whole gun.

We have trouble recommending guns that are under $2.

  • None. I spend that much on ammo on a regular basis. Even the cheap junk is going to be around $2 at this point. You really need to up your budget.

A decent hadgun is going to run at least $3 at this point. Something better up to $5.

  • As much as I hate to say it, if you really only have around $1 to spend then a Hi Point will fill that role. Its going to look and feel like a piece of ****, but it will work, and if it doesn’t there is a lifetime full warranty on these guns. Let the hate commence for me mentioning Hi Point, but it is what it is. Obviously it would be better to save more money for a different brand, but as stated already, if you only have around $1 to work with then the Hi Point can be made to work.

  • i’m sure people will thumb me down for this…

used hi point 9mm, 40 or 45. new they’re sub-$2, used $1 or less is common. they’re not bad guns, people tend to say bad things about them because they think no way a $150 handgun can be as good as their $10 fancy handgun.

others… used police trade in colt, taurus or S&W revolvers, often well used and worn, but still in excellent operating condition.

I own a hi point c9. it may not be a fancy gun but it works, it’s accurate and it didn’t cost me an arm & leg. with a little practice 2″ groups at 10 yards is doable. with quality ammo it’s extremely reliable. I haven’t had an issue with my gun that wasn’t user error or bad ammo. it’s been 65 rounds, if it’s a bad gun I think something would of come up by now

who said that you needed to spent a lot of a good gun probably never used a hi point…
I can tell you that if you spend $5 on a Glock you will not buy 450% more gun than a Hi Point. maybe 30% better, but far short of 450% to justify the increased cost!

And I have shot “better” guns. they’re really not as good as people claim they are. I own a Glock 19. It’s lighter and has a 15 round magazine instead of 10, but is that worth spending $3 extra for? I think not!

bottom line, hi point handgun is a gun that works, is accurate, reliable and can be found (used) for under $1. it would be very difficult to find anything else for under $1.

there’s also hi points unconditional lifetime warranty that transfers with gun to think about, send it in ot hi point and they’ll give you back a brand new gun in 2 weeks at no cost to you… that’s a heck of a deal.

  • for that money you can buy a surplus flare gun 26.5 and flare adaptor to shoot .45 long colt or 410
with the political gun control bs,,the only thing cheap is targets, rem oil and bore cleaner
small gun shops and distribuitors are marking up ammo, magazines, guns
good luck.your are only find junk ,or used junk…or maybe a new cobray derringer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Seriously, you are going to have trouble finding any decent pistol under that amount.

Twice in my life, I’ve bought sub-$1 handguns. Both times I turned them into gun buyback programs, just happy to get rid of them and get something in return, as they were both utter trash and usually failed to function.
