If you download a photo from the internet and take it to Tescos they will scan it into their computer. They then make a copy of it onto a sheet of icing and it is then laid onto the cake. I’ve had one done and was very pleased with it.

You can get it pretty much anywhere. Go to a local supermarket bakery such as Target or Wal*Mart and ask about it. Ice cream places normally make cakes too. If you have a bakery go there. It really depends where you live. Most places will have a book with all different cakes and decorations that they make on them. Find the one that you like and then tell them and schedule a pick up time and date. If they don’t have a picture of one then ask because sometimes the books aren’t updated for a while. At some places you can personalize the cake so tell them your idea and see if they can do it- decorating cakes is their job. 😀 Go on Google and type in bakeries in (your town). Then go to the bakery/store site and get a number that you can call and you can ask if they even do Batman cakes. (this will save you a trip & gas!) If you can’t find anyone who has a Batman cake that you like or if they aren’t local-it’s ok. Don’t give up yet. Go to any store (but I would suggest Party City for this-or a specific party store) and get all types of batman decorations-such as napkins, plates, posters, balloons and all that type of fun stuff- 😀 Normally they also will have decorations for cakes. Buy some of these and either make a cake or just order a plain cake. Pick out frosting colors for the cake and have them write Happy Birthday on it- but tell them that you don’t want a theme. Then when you get the cake you can put the decorations on it. Or you can give them the decorations you bought and see if they will do it for you.

Batman is a fairly common theme for children birthday cakes, so I would suggest you try visiting any supermarket in your area. They will generally take orders for custom cakes.

If they do not have that option, you can always buy a frosted cake or make one and buy a “Batman Decorating Kit” online and decorate the cake yourself! An example of this can be seen here:

There are, of course, some online bakeries that make custom cakes as previously mentioned by some of the people who responded but they can get quite expensive.

Although I don’t have kids I come from a family of 5 brothers and sisters and I (27 y old) have been the “mom” for the 3 that comes after me who are 20, 15 and 14. Even though I am certified for baking and pastry I don’t usually have the time for baking a cake for their birthdays. I am not against people buying a cake especially for a birthday party (not everyone has the talent or the time to organize every detail of the party and bake at the same time). But I think its a beautiful tradition that you are starting with your baby. When he is old he probably won’t remember what was the shape or if it looked ugly, he will appreciate that you loved him and it will be something that will connect you deeply with your son.
