Where did my last name come from and what did it mean?

My dad’s last name: Odoom

My moms last name: Oláh( or Olah as mom writes it work and stuff).

  • I had a quick look on the internet and it only brings up Odom and it is the personal name Odam it means son of Odam. It seems it is an Old English word athum meaning son-in-law and it changed to Odam.

    The surname Olah means dweller by the alder and is possibly Hungarian.
