which poplutaion tends to lag more, prey or predator?

There tends to be more predators than prey! This is because the prey are suppose to multiply fast and survive on their surrounding which would be easier to survive than the predictor. The predictor has to survive on the prey. If the prey population goes down so does the predictor. If the prey population goes up, the predictor population will go up to! Neither. The modern cycle of animal population tends to be habitat destruction – less vegetation for herbivore – less herbivore for carnivore. Populations tend to stay in sync because more prey increases predator numbers as parents can feed their offspring easier and vice versa
