Why are murders always labeled anti-social? I have social anxiety, and I’m not a killer!?

I don’t like to be around people, because I have severe social anxiety. But I’ve never thought of hurting others. I don’t understand why the media keeps pointing fingers at people who have anxiety and saying killers are like them? What’s that all about?

  • I think a lot of murderers would be more social, like psychopaths, they would manipulate people into doing what they want them to because they are good actors. I guess it’s because people with social anxiety don’t fit in so they must think there is something wrong with them. Also those kind of people get picked on, and it can cause them to have a lot of dislike for others. Maybe they want everybody to be all the same kind of mindless drones, so anyone who is different and doesn’t follow the pack is outcasted. Wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve always been anti social and it makes me happy. I like solitude and peace and quiet and doing my own thing.

  • They aren’t always labeled anti-social. You may be hearing about the profiles of some serial killers OR just watching a bunch of those dumb law and order csi shows that consistently distort the reality of crime and criminals.

  • Not every poorly socialized person is a killer, but on the other side of it, every murder is anti social, isn’t it ? Perhaps that is why murderers are usually labeled as anti- social.

  • because they don’t want you to suspect the outgoing, social, popular/famous, wealthy, good ones. evil comes in all shapes and forms and most serial killers are in fact the opposite of anti social. don’t believe the media, they’re liars.
