So if there is a lot of dust in the air the sand partials will break the light bin differently then there is clean air.
Also, depends where you are geographically located on earth, the light bin has more or less atmosphere to go through.
Lastly, if you are near one of the poles, some of the light bins will create spectacular colors in the sky while hitting the earth magnetic field. (Aurora)

A volcanic eruption somewhere distant may blow dust particles sky high, these dust particles drift miles and miles away while breaking and bending the light coming from the sun, this may cause a spectacular sunset right in front of your serene cozy home, completely unaware of the violent cause of it.
