I am amazed how much more things are there (twice as much at least many times)..why is this? and how long has been this way?
(do British people make twice or three times as much money as most Americans? if not, how they cope with the prices?)

Ah, America. I don’t think that’s necessarily true. Of course, with things like petrol, sure but not everything.
The US dollar is weak compared to the pound. Hopefully that answered your question.
