  • because those are the colors we instinctualy identify as supposed to be their, thousands of years of evolution. but then again the holy god of andromina might be wondering what our holy god was thinking when he put a red rose on a green stem.

  • “clashing” colors is a matter of judgement. Maybe you don’t think natural colors clash, but there are plenty of combinations that would look bad if you wore them.

First of course not all animals or birds or insects or reptiles see color or see color as we do. Secondly, color may be used for mating (plumage?), disguise(green as a leaf?) danger (yellow and red of coral snake) fein (color of moth and butterfly similar but only one tasty?). Color and its combinations either work or do not work. By natural selection only the color combinations that work survive – and most look natural rather than psychedelic.
