Why do people say kevin durant better then lebron james?

Usually it’s based on a personal dislike of James. While Durant is a great NBA player, he is not on James’ level. He is a premier scorer and has worked very hard to improve his all around game but right now Lebron’s the best. I don’t knock him for his team’s inability to get past Memphis. I’m not so sure that even with a healthy Russell Westbrook that the Thunder would advance. That being said he has a ways to go before he is better than the current best player in the world, LeBron James.

Its probably because Durant truly is better than LeBron. The media often tends to d*ck-ride LeBron and say that hes the best player in the world, the undisputed mvp, etc. But in reality Durant is the better player. I believe that LeBron robbed Durant of mvp both this year AND last year.

And your whole “LeBron could take his team to the finals with a weaker team” argument is kind of invalid. LeBron throughout his entire career played for the EAST. The Eastern conference is signifacntly weaker than the western conference, its a proven fact. In 07, the only team that was really HARD to beat was probably the Pistons. The other teams LeBron beat were kind of easy.

Its also unfair for you to say “Kevin Durant can’t even bring the Thunder to the finals”. As I said earlier, its very hard to win in the west, both in the regular and post season. Memphis is actually looking like a strong favorite to win it ALL this year. With that being said, how could you penalize Durant and the Thunder for not beating a title-contending team when they don’t have their star player? Also, just to let you know, the series is not over yet. There are 8 teams that have came back from a 3-1 defecit, OKC actually might be one of them (considering that they lost game 3 buy a bit in OT and game 7 would be played in OKC). I guess we’ll have to find out.

I’m not a LeBron fan. I’m a fan of KD’s, though. These are my thoughts.

LeBron is the best in the league right now. Even I can’t deny that but it’s not like Durant doesn’t have good stats. Durant is the second best in the league. But even if LeBron did carry the Cavs to the Finals, did he win with them? No. They got swept. Basketball is a team sport, not one man himself can carry the team to a championship. KD needs help from his teammates and he’s not getting that. Especially not with Westbrook being hurt.

It amazes me that some fans think he won’t ever win a championship. I’m not even a Thunder fan but to say that Durant won’t ever win one is ridiculous. He’s 24, he has a lot of time.

And the person who said that the West is better is correct. As a Raptors fan, I think the East is a joke, lol. It is what it is.

kevin durant is a pure scorer. He will shoot the ******* lights out on you and get to the rim. lebron is more like a strong physical magic johnson. He can distribute th ball. And thats why him, d wade and the rest of the scum known as the heat can form a team the way they did. All they did was get lebum and a bunch of role players and 3 point shooters so he can drive in and then kick out. Not rocket science. I don’t like the heat or lebum in the least bit ( in case you couldn’t tell, I think they are dirty and are ruining the game of basketball) but lebum is the better player all around. ON a side note, KD isn’t a choke artist, whoever wrote that comment must have been thinking of lebron when he faked that bullshit elbow injury when he was still in cleveland.

They don’t like admitting that LeBron is the better player basically because they hate him. Don’t get me wrong, Durant is no doubt the second best player today but LeBron is obviously better.

KD is great player but as long as Lebron is still playing or KD wins a ring he’s going to be living in the Lebron shadow.

I definitely see what you mean. No question LeBron is the best player, but its not by a long shot. Their numbers are quite similar.
