Why do so many christians get heated up when they hear of religions that do not beleive in trinity?

As a jehovahs witness i constantly get slammed over my take on trinity, but no one really takes the time to explain why they get so angry or emotional when it comes to this topic. I don’t beleive in it because no one has yet to show me scriptural evidence that father son and holy spirit are one. The day someone shows me such a scripture is the day I will beleive in trinity.

(And no the quote that says I baptise you in the name of father, son and holy spirit is not substantial proof of trinity because this is just baptism procedure, not a declaration that father son and holy ghost are one and the same.

  • The concept behind the trinity is well behind Matthew 28:19 “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”

Why did Jesus not say Jehovah instead of The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit?

Here are a few of the favorite JW words:

Theocracy, millenium, rapture, centralized world organization, Watchtower organization, Kingdom hall, ministerial servants, Circuit Assemblies, Theocratic, Ministry School”.

All these words not only convey false doctrine, they are also not found in the Bible anywhere, not even the concept behind the words, and yet you blindly follow.

The answer of the complexity of God/Trinity can in some way be found in science.

Anybody here heard of Quantum Entanglement???

“Quantum entanglement, also called the quantum non-local connection, is a property of a quantum mechanical state of a system of two or more objects in which the quantum states of the constituting objects are linked together so that one object can no longer be adequately described without full mention of its counterpart”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_entanglement

We see the Trinity very well explained (but not limited to) as above: It is a property/state of two or more beings in which the constituting beings are linked together such that, one being can no longer be adequately described without full mention of its counterpart.

But most Jehovah’s witnesses won’t accept this because free thinking is prohibited for them:

Watch Tower literature warns that “independent thinking”, such as questioning the counsel it provides, is dangerous and warns Witnesses against studying the Bible without the aid of the Society’s literature.

  • The problem is that you have made up your mind not to accept any verses that support the Trinity…..much like the atheists who, no matter how much you debate with them, they cannot accept that there is a God. It’s the same with Jehovah Witnesses.

I have communicated with some JWs for months together showing them verses from the Bible but the response is the same. It is not ours to convince someone. We can only present the truth. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to convince them.

Just accept the fact and relax….till the Holy Spirit troubles your conscience.

  • I have no idea. Who cares? I never understood this. I don’t understand people who call people dreaded trinitarians. I think there is one God but Elohim kind of means sons of god . It is plural. I know people want to talk about Jehovah but then there are all those other Jehovah’s like Nissi and Rophe.

Did Jesus really care if people believed exactly the same?I don’t understand the fixation on Christmas trees or if you celebrate a day by giving gifts . It seems like silliness to me. If you call Thursday Thursday it is named for Thor. We tried to do away with pagan influences and there are just too many to worry about . Friday is for Freya. What are you going to do about government holidays?

  • The doctrine of the Trinity is one of (many) Christian beliefs, and in the years since its inception (325ce) as such it is generally referred as the mystery of the One God.

Citations in the Scripture on the Trinity are extracted and interpreted.

I respect the right to believe what you want, as long as you respect mine.

  • Well if you believe in the trinity, and the BIBLE then you should know somewhere in Deuteronomy, i believe im not sure, it says somthing like “OUR LORD IS ONE LORD” I cant quote it from heart but look right above the ten commandments and i think that is where it is.

  • How can there be three parts to ONE god?? God is ONE, he is mighty, he is merciful and he is ONE. He’s not a bird and he’s not a human. And he is crtainly NOT a pizza that you can cut in three and put back into one!!!

  • I couldn’t care less what other people believe. It’s none of my business.

When they lie about it, though, I make it my business for the sake of others who are victimized by the dishonesty.

  • Below are part of emails that I had sent to someone.

God has 3 parts, which in fact are one. Soul- Holy spirit, body- Christ Jesus, and Mind- God The Father. Just as humans are made in his image, have 3 parts, soul, mind and body. It’s like an apple. The skin, middle, and seed. All 3, but all 1.

Lets take a look from John 1:1-

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This means that God is the Word.

John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” This passage tells us that the Word is Christ. And the Word is God. Thus Christ is God.

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and THESE THREE ARE ONE. I John 5:7

John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.”

In Revelation, an angel instructed the apostle John to only worship God (Revelation 19:10). Several times in Scripture Jesus receives worship (Matthew 2:11, 14:33, 28:9, 17; Luke 24:52; John 9:38). He never rebukes people for worshiping Him. If Jesus were not God, He would have told people to not worship Him, just as the angel in Revelation did.

Even so, if he wasn’t God, but has the power and knowledge of God which he has “received”: He did not condemn anyone for worshiping him. So obviously it is not a sin to worship him. If it was a sin, he would direct them to not worship him, but worship only Yahweh. He never did this, which means he is claiming to be God. And Christianity itself is based off Jesus. So would you reconsider yourself not to be a Christian if you don’t believe Jesus is God?

It does not matter that the man who came up with the trinity was excommunicated. The Roman Catholic Church was corrupt for hundreds of years. They sold indulgences and denied people access to the bible.

Colossians 2:9-10. “in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form”

Romans 9:5. “Christ, who is God over all”

Titus 2:13. “our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ”

2 Peter 1:1. “our God and Savior Jesus Christ”

Though you make some good points, and have a lot of info, it does not all add up if you take a different view.

My old Theology professor knew and understood the Hebrew version, thus they must know Hebrew to be a teacher, and does agree that Jesus is God in flesh. There are many verses to support this,

Isaiah 7:14: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”1

“Immanuel” literally means: “God with us.” See also Matthew 1:23; Jesus was “God with us.”

Isaiah 9:6: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Why would the child himself be called Mighty God? And Everlasting Father? The KJV bible also calls him these titles.

John 8:58-59: “‘I tell you the truth,’ Jesus answered, ‘before Abraham was born, I am!’ At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.”

I am, means Yahweh. So Jesus is calling himself Yahweh in flesh. In the KJV bible, Jesus also says before Abraham, “I am”. The Son of God, if he was not God, couldn’t of been with God in the beginning. Jesus was not born until many years after.

You said that it is a sin to worship Jesus AS God, but not a sin to worship the Son of God. We clearly see here that Thomas worships Jesus AS God but is not rebuked. Many times in scripture, people worship Jesus as God, but he does not redirect them to Yahweh.

John 20:27-29: “Then He said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.’ Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’” We see right here, that after Thomas says “My Lord and my God!”, Jesus says “Because you have seen me.

Below is the KJV version. It also says similar. Thomas obviously believes that Jesus is God himself. Jesus does not tell him otherwise.

27Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.

29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

    Below is what you wrote.

  • There is no God but One.

  • Why is it you Christians can’t seem to agree on the “one truth” thing?
