Why do we see the sky as blue?

A clear cloudless day-time sky is blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colours because the blue light has been scattered out and away from the line of sight.

This question is asked at least five times a day. I don’t get it. Can you please explain to me why??

Answer to your question. Blue Light from the sun has the Shortest Wave Length and is scattered more in the Earth’s Atmosphere > it is called Rayleigh Scattering.
