Why will my Dell V305w not print after upgrading to Windows 7? 26th April 2013?

I have just upgraded my PC from Vista to Windows 7 last week. Until the time of the pc crash my printer was working fine. When I installed Windows 7 it wouln’t load until I had uninstalled my printer. I reinstalled the printer with up to date drivers from the Dell website, plugged it all in and was fully expecting it to be fine. It wasn”t.
It goes on, will print a test page, scans and copies but when I give the print command from Word it will not print. The print job is not recognised or listed and does not go into the queue.
I have uninstalled and re-installed it about 10 times. I followed the instructions from prevoius similar queries and downloaded the new, updated .Net software from Microsoft AND STILL IT WON’T PRINT???
I cannot afford to buy a new one as this is only four years old and it is perfectly good – except it won’t print.
Can anyone help me please?????

  • See if this Microsoft link can help you
  • Open Devices and Printers by clicking the Start button, and then, on the Start menu, clicking Devices and Printers.

Right-click the printer you want to use, and then click Set as default printer. (You’ll see a check mark on the printer’s icon signifying that it’s now your default printer.)☺
