I have windows vista ultimate on my laptop. I was looking to upgrade to windows ultimate. I checked many places and the best price I found was AUD$ today I checked amazon.com and found the price is AUD$!!
Why the big difference in prices?
What’s the catch here?
Will it amazon copy work fine on my machine?

Links to the sites/pages with prices would help. Just telling us the prices doesn’t help much.

They could be different products
One possible difference is that one is a full version (for installation on a new computer) and the other is an upgrade (from an existing version of Windows). Windows Ultimate upgrades are going for about $ US; full versions are usually at least $ more.

It might be the OEM version that lacks commercial customer support. THe OEM version is fine, but the install disc is either the -bit version or -bit version, and does not include both kernels like the Retail version.
You can also by the OEM from the US and have it shipped to you using http://www.myus.com/ if it saves you money.

go to MICROSOFT n download window adviser n check if it will work with ur laptop or not just to test it ot
