Worker Lied About 3 Weeks Resignation and making false complaints.?

A worker was causing a great deal of trouble for her team and the line she works for. She would cry and have meltdowns when things didn’t go her way.

She realized that she was having problems and that they would either fire her or she would be moved to another department within the company.

She decided to tell her boss that she is leaving in three weeks and made a complaint about one of her team members was staring (harassing her) at her. Which is completely false.

She did this in order to keep her job, so just in case she was fired, she can cry “retaliation”.

Both her and the person she complained about are temps. It is not fair on the worker she is making false complaints about.

Should this worker(the one being accused) speak with HR? What should this worker do?

If this person doesn’t leave by the time the 3 weeks come, can she be terminated because she lied in order to save herself?

  • I assume the person doing the complaining is a very young person – under 21 – as only young people have this bizarre, almost psychotic fixation with people “staring” at them.

How do you know the allegation was false?

The complainer has been totally correct in submitting her resignation if she wishes to leave – many young people simply walk out of a job, and then wonder why they have difficulty getting another one.

Why should be terminated when she has already submitted her resignation.

You would appear to be a rather spiteful malicious person yourself

  • just because they were going to fire her and she made a complaint does not mean they would keep her to avoid a law suite.. she would have to have proof of the harassment..

if some is being accused of harassment then the HR person should have already been talking to them..
