radon is a gas so it is not attached to a mineral. generally what you want to “date” is the age of the mineral in the rock, so radon is not a suitable target to do this.
no, because as an inert gas it is not part of any molecule, so while you could date the radon, there is no way to tell how closely that matches the age of anything else.
