Would you get upset if the coworker who bullied you got fired because of your complaint to HR?

This coworker did harassment, bullying, some violence for over one month.. You reported him and he got fired… Would you get upset because someone lost his job?

PS: He wouldnt mind if YOU got fired for whatever reason, because he hates you..

  • No. I had my immediate supervisor and a co-worker fired (well the co-worker walked out after being called on his actions) due to sexual harassment. My life was a living hell at work and seeing them go was a great relief. That is what HR and workplace rules of conduct are for…to protect the workers.

Good for you for speaking up…I’m sure he had been making others miserable also.

The more we call people on legit misbehavior the less they will commit it and know they can’t get away with it.

  • Yes and no. Yes, because I am (and you are) a caring human being – even if they deserve it; sometimes being a thoughtful human being you still feel bad.

No, because – But look at it is this way. You did nothing wrong. This person’s actions got him fired – not you reporting it. You were in a sense protecting yourself by reporting it. They did the wrong thing. So no – you should not feel bad. Your actions quite possibly stopped another person from being harassed so not only did you do the right thing, but you helped at least one other person if not many future potential victims.

  • no. i wouldn’t be upset at all. not for anyone that bad.

i’m glad to hear someone has been held accountable.

i have put up with sexual harassment for years. i try to stop the person(s) as nicely and as quietly as possible, which -sometimes- works.

but one time i got this guy who just would not quit–would seek me out.

i finally asked my foreman (i work construction) –‘would you tell __________ to stop bothering me?’
    just that. nothing more.

a few days later i had my check in my hand because i had been ‘laid-off’ via ‘reduction in force’.

he still had his job, though! 😀

    good for you.

it’s time people started to learn they need to keep their stupidity to themselves.

  • No, people need to be accountable for their actions. If he was doing that, he deserved to be fired.

  • no, he deserved it, he did it to himself by harrassing others

  • No way. Nobody can treat someone like crap and be rewarded with a pay check. They need to be taught a lesson.

  • No. Sorry

  • No I wouldn’t be upset at all. It sounds like it was either you or him, much better that he is gone, he deserved it.
