I’ve got a 2020×30 picture (3 dpi) I found on the internet that I’d like to print out in a big format. The print will be hung in my room to replace an old poster I once took home from a nearby cinema. I don’t need it to be exceptionally detailed but I also don’t want it to come out pixelated. Is the A0 format just fine or should I stick with A1 instead? Thanks!

A generally accepted convention is that a good quality print needs at least 3 dpi. That would imply a maximum size of your picture of 6.73 x 10 inches, which would fit comfortably on A4. If you want a larger poster you will have to enlarge the picture size in a graphics program, multiplying each dimension by at least 4 to get towards A0. The computer will interpolate pixels to match the existing grid.
I have looked at a 8080 x 120 version in Photoshop. The results are acceptable but not brilliant. Try it for yourself before committing to the expense of a print.
